Huh, that's something I hadn't thought about!

It's like a cat in a round room trying to pee in the corner!

Except the room isn't round, is a really weird shape, still no corners and a weird knob shaped bit!!

Not sure - If it is anything like the explorer or firebird - as far forward as possible to prevent nose diving. On my pine explorer and the AG-2 I placed the front button onto the top neck mounting screw (suggested by Simon B). It required widening the button hole(!?) though.

I seen some images with the button on the neck plate. Was it tricky to do? I don't want to muck things up this far along in the build.

I did not add another hole to the neck mounting plate. I used one of the existing screws that is holding the neck on - so I only potentially ruined the strap button. I fixed the button into a vice and used successively larger drill bits to open the hole to the size of the neck mounting screws. Then removed the screw and just put the screw back with the button. I probably should have gotten a slightly longer screw - but I have not had any problems yet.

On my EX5 I drilled a hole in the middle of neck mounting plate and located strap lock button there as neck dive is a big deal being such a long instrument. Luckily guitars aren't as long but neck dive can still be an issue.
