Cheers mate, yeah I don't like to see a mate struggling either, lol.

I'm currently doing a bit of work on my Squire P-Bass, basically (pun intended...lol), I'm swapping out the bridge that was installed on it for the one that was on my Yamaha ERB-300 Bass (the bridge on the ERB-300 is a nice Gotoh), just had to glue some splinters of wood in some holes so that the mounting screws would be tighter.

I think that most of the forum members would agree with me that your mateship and continual support on this forum, for us, has been invaluable Doc. You have encouraged me when I have had major set backs in my builds and have inspired me to build pedals (and an amp someday). I can see that you have set exceedingly high goals for yourself and your pursuit of them is admirable, I just thought I should highlight some of your qualities that you may not get told sometimes. Building guitars is not easy, and when you put the better part of a year and finances into it it can be soul destroying if things go wrong. I've been there, and I've seen others go to that place as well. It's a rare thing though, after that time, when it's time to pick it back up and finish that build, I've seen some amazing builds come out of it. Take some time Doc, I'd love to see you finish this epic build thread

Hey cheers for that Andy, though you and I have never met in person, I regard you as a great mate, hope you don't mind me saying that, I've read a few of your threads and found them inspiring too, your guitar builds have impressed me a lot with the standard of finishing on them, when you get round to building an amp, feel free to ask me any questions you like and I will answer them to the best of my ability, I agree, sometimes I do tend to set very high goals for myself, maybe subconsciously I'm trying to prove something to myself, I don't really know, but when I do achieve those goals I tend to feel good about myself, and yes, when I don't achieve the goals I've set for myself it does tend to feel a bit soul destroying, I think I need to learn how to deal with setbacks better, so, maybe that can be my life's mission, hopefully I'll get this project finished with the new Strat body, meanwhile there are a few other things I can work on.

The good news is that I managed to get my white Ibanez RG350DXZ guitar back into a playable/giggable state, with a new set of strings, it seems to be holding it's tuning a bit better now, so at least I have one guitar that I can play, I also did some other maintenence work on it to get the trem-system working better.

The place where I live is really not a great neighborhood to live in at all, so one thing I've really got to do at some stage is get myself moved to a better neighborhood, a lot of bad stuff happens where I live, it's basically a set of NT Government Housing blocks, some of the people living in some of the houses aren't really nice people, and there's been a couple people actually getting killed where I live, one person committed suicide (supposedly) by jumping over the balcony-railing on the top floor, another person got knifed and died in a pool of blood after making it back into the carpark, where they collapsed on the concrete footpath about ten metres from where my mailbox is, one other person got knifed when they went outside to ask a group of Aboriginal people to be quiet, I've also had some Aboriginal people have fights right outside my kitchen window, so you see, where I live is having a negative effect on my mental health and wellbeing.

Just thought I would let you guys know that, maybe that has been a contributing factor, I don't really know, it's possible though, anyway, it's one more item on my "to do" list.

Good insight Doc, I don't know whats thats like, but it sounds pretty horrible. I could't live in the NT just for the sheer heat. If you can make that move to Cairns things may be a bit better.

For sure, there's a few things I need to do first before I can do the move to Cairns, I need to get some medical papers together for Territory Housing so they can see if they can fast-track me with regards to the move, that may take some time though.
