Looking great B'lark. That angled neck pocket was always going to be hard to do, but you managed it well.

Looking amazing dude. Really getting there now. I have the Australian Guitar Making School very close to me as well and have toyed with the idea of scratchie lessons. Your build is certainly pushing me in that direction!
cheers,
Gav.

This is really nice work dude. To tackle a scratch project is fiddly but to do it multi scale, chambered with a body shape like the Mockingbird is setting yourself a challenge. Very inspiring to see how you have overcome some of the issues you had encountered along the way. Hanging out to see and hear the finished article!

#Planning 5 String Bass
Yea Gav, for real go and do it if you can (And everyone else too!!!) It's been an awesome experience, and the fact that you have free reign over what gets built is just fantastic.
And thanks to everyone for the support and kind words. I'm so glad to see people enjoying the build!!
Oh boy I'm exhausted as heck. I did double lessons yesterday, because we thought I'd be able to get it basically done (bar sanding and oiling) in that time. Unfortunately didn't get it totally done, but there's really not much to go now.
First up was tuner holes
Plan the electronics cavity
Drill the pot and toggle holes, then rout out the cavity
Quick mockup
And mockup with neck
I didn't take any more pics after that because I was concentrating on actually getting stuff done, but we also cut and filed a nut, drilled out the neck screw and ferrule holes, and plotted out the locations of the bridge pieces. It's ALMOST a complete, playable guitar, huzzah!
great stuff B'Lark looking like a guitar now ! Glad your workbench looks like mine after a few hours - pile of tools !
Will this be a natural and just a clear coat ? is the headstock veneer flame maple ? looks choice
@ Gav I urge you to book into the guitar school, you will learn alot of new skills. I am lucky I have had DB to guide me

It's useful to have them to hand, so you don't want to put anything away, but then you need more tools and you don't want to put them away either. It just grows.
