Yep. I would tell NAB where to stick thier crappy couldnt give a toss for the customer attitude.

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....

Surely the bank can sort you out with a temporary solution while they get your new card out which as you say could be 2 weeks away.

If NAB say you will have to wait for the new card I'd go to Bendigo as DB suggested and close your NAB account !
Consumers get jerked around too much by banks and they don't understand the inconvenience

Well, when I go in to see the people at the Casuarina NAB branch tomorrow, I am going to make it blatantly obvious how Uber-Extremely-Urgent it is for me to get a new bankcard ASAP, and if they give me the it'll-take-a-fortnight-to-get-your-new-card, I'll tell them that's not good enough since me and my cats will be starving for that fortnight.

By the way, I want to apologize for taking my thread off-topic.

    Lol....thanks mate.

I did say my thread is going to be an epic one...lol.

Now with that little rant over and done with, I think I'll go ahead and do another two coats of the CG stain on the Strat body, I guess that'll take my mind off things for a while...lol.

Doc, the best therapy and taking your mind off things is working on your build.

Doc, tell them you will call the banking ombudsman if you don't get satisfaction (it's illegal to deny access to YOUR money) and remind the teller that it's THEM not the bank that will be at the end of his wrath. It's usually that they couldn't be bothered to go out of their way, nothing like the threat of the state manager asking why the ombudsman is on the other line to get them motivated.

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind just in case I get nowhere tomorrow.

Wow there seems to be numerous topics in this thread but after a quick skim

    1. Your STA-1 is looking awesome
    2. Cairns / FNQ - I'm a fan, good move. I had some friends who lived up their and also got married up there somewhere near the Daintree.
    3. Bank hackers - scum. Good job the banks are starting to get with the drift and protect innocents (albeit with a bit inconvenience sometimes)
    4. Youth Yindi - another big tick. Our eldest daughter listens to them as bedtime music. Good stuff

    cheers for now!

That's actually Yothu Yindi, I actually had the good fortune to meet Mandawuay Yunnupingu, Yothu Yindi's frontman before he passed away, he was quite a character with a wonderful infectious sense of humor, one of his relatives, Jeffrey Yunnupingu, is a good mate of mine, he was born blind but you give him a guitar and he produces the most beautiful music you could ever hear, he's become very famous recently after releasing a few albums.
