    nice touch on the headstock Grant, so the exposed part we can see will be shaped maple and the mdf area will be veneer ?

    scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
    Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

    Thanks Tony and Wokks. I have some Behlen satin poly for the top coat. Tried some on the veneer and looks pretty good, not as good on the bare mahogany. Need to find a way to darken it slightly, have plenty of stains to play around with so should come up with something.

    sounds good Grant, maybe some red or brown stain for the mahogany centre would look the bizz with the burl sides

    haha i dip my Fender style pickups in Behlen satin poly before i wind them, so you will never get a short wire against the pole.

    yes all the mahogany bodies I have stained red or brown suits the hue in the 'hog'

    So I'm guessing the heat from wax potting doesn't bother the poly, that's why you use it?
