Yep, as I keep saying, I'll take my punishment as a man, so I'll happily meet you in the naughty warehouse, wokka, if you've been following the discussion on the Craft Beer thread, make sure the bar stocks Corona Extras mate, from what I've read and watched on youtube, the Mustang 3 comes with 100 presets, should be good for recording projects or live gigging, I'm going round to a mates place to practice some songs tomorrow, he's going to help me make a pedal board and I worked out a design that uses 7 pedals, two of them are Digital modellers (a Zoom G2 and a Digitech RP50), the amp I'm going to be using is my Behringer K3000FX 300 Watt P.A/Keyboard amp, you should see the rig my mate has set up in his home.
Cheers for the primer and timbermate, will make sure I buy that next week.

Most likely it is conductive, I'd imagine that it needs to be in order to create the static that repels snails, it's no real biggie if it isn't conductive, just solder a bit at the joins.
Hey, I found it was conductive. Barely read an ohm or 2 when testing from opposite sides of the shielded cavity.

To say that I'm hyper-excited is an understatement, I may get a parcel card in my mailbox today but then again, I may get one next week.
Update:
I just went down to check my mailbox this morning to see if there was any mail and guess what?....there was a parcel card inside it, the number written on it matches the one that's in my latest Australia Post tracking update, so that means my new PBG STA-1M Strat kit is ready to be picked up at the Winnellie Post Office today, the Post Office is just down the road from where I live, easy walking distance, all I need to do now is wait till 5:00pm this afternoon and go and pick up the parcel.

Yeah, I suppose I would re-consider a solid paint finish, I'd probably go for something like a translucent gold colour, assuming that the Big Green Shed has it in stock in Acrylics, I want to avoid using Enamel spray-paints since I read somewhere that Enamel paints take ages to dry and are not really recommended for guitar finishes, if I managed to buy some translucent Gold Paint, then I'd be able to let the grain pattern show through whilst still keeping true to my original concept, failing that, maybe translucent yellow, or even translucent Emerald Green.
If the grain pattern turned out to be so so, then it would be a moot point, I guess it's always good to have some alternative options available, judging from what other PBG forum members have gone through with their builds, I did notice that some members ended up altering their plans part-way through their build process, I do still want to stay true to the Gold Strat concept though, as the saying goes...."Where there's a will there's a way", and for sure, I'm very much psyched to be finally starting my first kit build, since my previous build of a Headless Guitar kit went a bit pear-shaped, as it turns out, to finish that Headless Guitar kit, it's going to end up costing me more money than I paid for the kit, a new decent quality bridge for the Headless Guitar kit is going to cost me something like Au$560.00, just means I'll have to put it on hold till I can afford to spend that kind of money on a new bridge, I figured out a way to get round the wonky pickup routing on the Headless Guitar body, so maybe it's worth salvaging, the neck is in good condition and has been clear-coated except for the fretboard.
I totally welcome all comments and suggestions since they are getting me to think about, and consider, all my options...cheers.

Just a thought, but if you go for gold would you consider beta testing Coolangatta Gold MKII?
I am hoping that my bottles will arrive today, so I can cook up a batch of DTMKII and get them out to my beta testers......

There is always a workaround for glitches, mistakes and other Guitar building gremlins.....
On a different note, I am intriuged to know how wide the snail tape is.
I see it is around the $8 mark for 4 meters, compared to $6ish for the 60mm wide x 1 metre length shielding tape we sell at PBG.
The obvious advantage of 60mm is less joins, and I also wonder how the adhesive on the snail tape will hold up over time..
Disadvantge of PBG tape is shipping cost if your order is under the free post range.....

For sure, I'd definitely consider beta testing Coolangatta Gold MkII, I watched one of the guide videos where you and Adam were discussing how to apply the intensifier coat to a guitar which had been finished in Coolangatta Gold MkI and I thought it looked nice,assuming that I got a Strat body with a nice grain pattern I could also try adding the Gold highlights to the Coolangatta Gold MkII finish, I wonder what that would look like with the Gold Hardware, and white pearloid scratchplate?
As a side note, it would be cool to have some way of previewing guitar finishes, maybe a small app you could run on a PC,Mac, Phone etc, then you could see what the guitar would look like beforehand, you could then easily change the finish if you didn't like the result without having to any sanding back.
And yeah, I feel your pain with Aussie Post mate.
