Thanks for the replies everyone and some great examples of testing the wiring.
If you look on page two of my post you will see a picture of the control cavity. As I said there, I was unable to follow the wiring diagram that came with the DIY Guitars kit. I used the fred yen video online as a wiring guide. My capacitors weren't long enough to reach from the volume to the tone pots like his so I extended the length by soldering a short wire on each of their ends.
If the resolution for the cavity photo isn't suitable I can try and take another picture if that helps(soldering skills are new)?
I think it will save me allot of grief if I just try to wire everything again after I borrow a multimeter. I'll check out PBG's wiring diagram first.
