Wokkaboy, I chose Lucky Country as it seems apt for where I now live in central Australia, only 15 KM from Uluru (you can see it from my front window) but at least 450km from the nearest major centre, Alice Springs. It's also my favorite song by the greatest band of all time Midnight Oil.
I'm still working out what type of finish I will apply to this build. I'm not sure if I should go with a paint or stain finish. I had intended to go with paint but when the kit arrived I really like some of the figure in the grain on the body so started to consider a stain and oil or clear coat finish.
If I were to stain it with say a one of the Dingo tone finishes, how do you protect the binding from soaking in any stain? I assume masking it won't stop it bleeding into the edge of the binding?
Also can anyone point me in the direction of a link to a video or a sound clip of a finished RC-1 in action? I'd like to get a feel of how it will sound.
