I like no loads because they take the pot out of the equation, i love a tele bridge pickup wide open for instance, the natural tone of the pickup is very nice when cutting up with some slide playing.

When wiring a strat, as you are probably aware, the strat bridge pickup has no tone control on it. What i did for a mate recently was a piece of wire across from the middle tone on the switch to the vacant lug in the middle, right next to it, i then put a no load in the middle pups volume control, this gave him a no load on the middle and bridge, he keep the stock 250k in the neck, he liked the tone on the neck pup with some load on it.
