got the side dot markers up to the 12th fret done. So I've used black markers for 3,5,7,9 etc. White dot markers for others. 12th fret is 4mm MOP. Bit more sanding and should be ready for headstock staining.
Off now to do to 22nd marker. It's a longer scale length 655mm (25.8") so should sound cool

got first coat of bushfire on the headstock and the flame is working well. Wayne's JBA-4M headstock to the right has the same treatment

You've got some nice rich tone showing there! That headstock is great with that flame!

It'll be interesting to see the late night, beer injected jams recorded on a fretless guitar... I'm waiting for that one!

so got some more work done, the hardware goodie box arrived mid week so main parts I needed was the string through bridge (Gotoh), ferules and black pup surrounds to try. Here's a mock build with new pots and switch. Had a fail on the switch thought it was jammed but it had rotated and I sheared the lever 70% off, doh, need to order a new one

got the bridge placed, screwed in and string through holes drilled and ferules test fitted, rushed it a bit and a bit out of alignment.
Got a tele cup output jack and tested black F type knobs and trying out the black pup surround, who prefers cream or black surrounds ?
Found out the neck is sitting a bit proud in the pocket so have to lower a tad, then another coat on body/headstock and bit more cleaning up on the neck, then should be onto clear coats soon

Have you got any spare cream surrounds lying around you can mock up? Throw up a photo of both to see how they compare.

Bugger on the ferrules... you weren't rushing to finish to have a beer I hope!

IMO the black looks better than the cream as it matches the knobs. Would still go chrome on all of them FTW (knobs too!)

    cheers,
    Gav.
