I've just gotten back home from picking up the parcel from the Post Office, sure enough it is the new Schaller Lockmeister Floyd Rose Trem Bridge and Schaller R3 Locking Nut, here's a pic of what was in the parcel:

Lol....yep, been toying with changing out the pickups too, but might see how they sound once the new trem has been installed, the new Schaller hardware seems like pretty good quality for the money I paid for it, being a Schaller Trem System it's German-made rather than Korean, which is what the original bridge is, basically a cheaper-made version of an American made Trem System, apparently Schaller made all the original Floyd Rose Trems under License for Floyd Rose, the inventor of the system, so, this Lockmeister Bridge should be as good as the originals.
Hope so too, I hope my mate is going to be able to install the system for me.
Seeing that the old Bridge was going to be removed anyway, I decided to remove it and do a quick test fit of the new bridge in it's place, I was a bit concerned about the Bridge Sustain-block hole not being big enough to accommodate the new Bridge Sustain-Block, but it fits fine with enough space to be able to position the new Bridge Accurately,and with the new Bridge in place and sitting flush against the body of the guitar, there's about 2mm clearance between the Sustain Block and where the Spring-Cavity cover would be, it looks like there won't be any real major issues with installing the new Trem, well none that I can see, my mate might have to do a little bit of routing on the body of the guitar under where the new Bridge will go in order to be able to set the 12th Fret action low enough once the guitar has new strings on.

Tell me if it is any good Dr N, a mate is wanting me to install the same system in his ESP which has a horrible Floyd copy that even when setup as good as it can, never stays in tune.
If you get the chance to, see if you can check the following things on the Trem system of your mate's ESP:
* The Bridge pivot posts, these should not look worn since wear can cause a Floyd Rose Trem system to not properly return to it's neutral position (where the tension of all the strings equals the tension of the springs), this is one cause of a Floyd Rose system not staying in tune.
* The Locking Nut, whether it is attached to the neck with screws that screw in from the top, or bolts that go through the neck, the Locking Nut needs to be held tightly in it's place otherwise if it shifts during Trem-arm use it can cause tuning instability issues.
* The Bridge Knife-Edges, these fit into the Bridge pivot-posts and need to be sharp, if the Bridge Knife-Edges are dull and,or, worn they can stop the Bridge from returning to neutral, causing tuning problems.
* The Locking-pieces on the Locking Nut, if these are worn the strings can slip out of tune.
* The general setting-up of the Trem System, sometimes a Floyd Rose Trem that won't stay in tune has just been set-up wrongly, when the guitar is tuned up to pitch the tension on the springs needs to equal the tension on the strings in order for it to function properly.
* The general condition of the strings, if the strings are rusty and worn out they will not stay in tune and should be replaced with a fresh set of strings.
* Badly set intonation.
* Worn frets.

Nah it was like 2 weeks old that axe, its the KH-202 (KH = Kirk Hammet btw), that very guitar has always had trem issues but ive heard with a new trem it solves it. Maybe its just the cheap trem ESP use....
Other than that the ESP KH-202 is a KILLER axe built to shred for any Metallica fan! \m/
Yeah, it could possibly be the cheap Trem system itself, they tend to be made of a softer metal than the more expensive ones so maybe all it needs is the whole Trem system replaced if it's only a couple of weeks old, especially so if the Trem system is one of those licensed versions, was the guitar made in USA or overseas in some Asian country?, if it was made overseas I'd suspect the Trem system even more so, I'd be inclined to consider Schaller made Trem systems pretty good quality ones due to German engineering, and also since Schaller actually manufactured the original Floyd Rose Trems for Mr Floyd Rose under license, from what I have read on the internet the general consensus is that those original Schaller-made Floyd Rose Trems are the best, hence the reason why they are expensive.
Schaller have been recently manufacturing a Floyd Rose Trem made from Titanium, which retail for something like $750.00 US, I have checked out some youtube demos and they sound really good, since they are made of Titanium they are very light but very strong.
There are some parts of the Floyd Rose Trem system where the performance of it relies on the hardness of the metal used to make the parts, for example the Knife-edges.
