Nowadays I'm trying to apply a french polishing technique but I can't spare enough time for my build. But it is going on and I hope it will finish soon.

I'm applying the 20th french polish layer now. Because I had done a lot of mistakes in the early phases. I didn't noticed them since the french polishing. Anyhow it is going well now.

The colour is looking amazing. Never knew you could add dye to Shellac, until now! Might be something to try on a future build.

    cheers,
    Gav.

Thanks Gavin. It was also very interesting for me. Perhaps I should take a few photos of my trials to get an appliable color. All my effort was to keep the ingredients minimum and affordable nearby. I didn't want to order them abroad. I'm sure there are lots of ways (and most of them are preferably-easy-to-do I guess) to finish a guitar. But this way is way too challenging and enjoyable.
