I'd picked up an assorted pack of "Micro Mesh" off Ebay a while back after reading about it in a Stew Mac brochure. I'm not sure if many other people on here are using it but this was my first experience.
What an absolutely wicked product for finishing. I just cut into 35mm squares and used just like wet and dry paper only this stuff will last me for years
If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it for cutting back a finish.

    Yep, it is good stuff.
If you want to get it locally (as in Oz) go to www.thesandpaperman.com

I got to order some of this stuff as well.
Just ordered the micro mesh pads Barge, you should sell used cars bro hahah
Just wait until you try those pads out Wokks, you'll thank me bro, they're freakin' awesome.
I mean the proofs in the pudding as far as nitro goes, it's up to the individual whether or not they want to use it.
Just to reiterate, you DO need to take your time with nitro, otherwise it WILL misbehave. I realize I'm not exactly practicing what I preach but I've used it enough now to know what I can get away with.

Here's a couple more as well as a hardware dry run...

After at least 21 days curing, hit it again...
You may need to wear sunnies because the reflected light from a 40 watt light bulb will burn your eyes out.........

Yeah roger that, by the time I've finished the neck/headstock plus I'm away to NZ for 3 weeks it's going to be close to 2 months sitting anyway, then (like you say) I'll go back and hit it again.

I'm de-fretting the neck so I can get the ebony finished a bit more as well as replacing the dots. A refret, then I want to try my hand at a paua shell inlay on the headstock, which will be a first so as you can see, she's got plenty of time to sit and cure.

It is well worth investing in the Behlen cutting and Deluxing compounds.
I reckon the tins will last me for the next twenty odd builds.
