Ok sounds like a plan. Also, I was wondering what to do about the bone nut. I was looking at some of the other build diaries and a lot of people get the bone nut of their guitar replaced. Should it be a problem if I leave it as it is or...??

You can send Dingobass an email and ask him to make one for you, or you could buy a blank off ebay and give it a go yourself (special tools required). I've been buying blanks and shaping them myself for a while now. It's a skill worth learning if you are planning on building more than a few guitars, but it's not easy.

Hey Ruben,
you can always set up the bass with the plastic nut and then fit the bone nut. It's a good skill to learn and if you plan building more bass guitars worth getting the slotting files

Yeah I think i'll try the plastic nut first. This is my first guitar so we'll see how it goes :P If its worth a cracker when i'm done then i'll consider more upgrades next time. For now I've got gold tuning pegs and a gold bridge on the way, and have some neat lil gold strap pegs from the local music shop. Hope I don't get too impatient with the staining stages :P
