I work as a paramedic in the fire department. On call shifts are 24 hours and then I have 72 hours off. This repeats. These are exeptional working hours being so long and 42 hours per week. These are only possible if the average time spent on assignments (or what you call them when you're with a patient) is less than 50% of the whole shift during the whole year. The different departments get to apply this kind of arrangement every two years. It's a good thing for a fsmily man - I get to spend time with my kids 5 whole days a week and the wife gets some free time as well.

Great work Arzi - I was a paramedic here for 16 years, recently became a train driver. Had enough of 14 hour night shifts... not on call, constant work

Your "butter paper" is simply oven tray or baking paper here.

Nice to find a fellow medic or ex medic here. yep - could not do 24 hours straight every time even though some shifts are with almost zero sleep. Fortunately those don't happen very often. Still - I have a bit of spare time for the project on the job too.

Looks like I might be a little late for work today. The 1 year old has a fever of 40 celsius... Or I just might be working at home with my own little patient.

so the time off and fun begins...

Got my family to Savonlinna a couple of days back and tomorrow is the Midnight summer´s fest here in Finland when the night is at it´s shortest and the sun almost doesn´t go down at all at night. Tomorrow it´s time to take it easy and get wasted with family and good friends at our summer cottage (have the kids taken care of by grandparents somewhere else - don´t bring them along until the next day) but before that an update on this project.

Got a little time to carve the scratchplates out of the sheet and try them on. I did this because I still have enough material to make a copy of the original. If I wanted to show the flaming, I had to shape these so that they are not exactly in line with each other regarding the shape, hight etc.

So tell me what you think of these - are they usable in your opinion or would the original be more appropriate?

Got the holes for the screws on the bridge drilled also. Used fishing line and small weights in the end of the line to align the bridge while the neck clamped in place. Used the same 60mm E-G space as in the bridge that came with the kit. If the individual bridges don´t work for some reason, the holes are covered by the MM-style kit bridge.

I like the design, It may depend on what the final finish looks like and how it matches to the black pearloid (good colour by the way, I have the same on a black Pbass).
