Got my family to Savonlinna a couple of days back and tomorrow is the Midnight summerīs fest here in Finland when the night is at itīs shortest and the sun almost doesnīt go down at all at night. Tomorrow itīs time to take it easy and get wasted with family and good friends at our summer cottage (have the kids taken care of by grandparents somewhere else - donīt bring them along until the next day) but before that an update on this project.
Got a little time to carve the scratchplates out of the sheet and try them on. I did this because I still have enough material to make a copy of the original. If I wanted to show the flaming, I had to shape these so that they are not exactly in line with each other regarding the shape, hight etc.
So tell me what you think of these - are they usable in your opinion or would the original be more appropriate?
Got the holes for the screws on the bridge drilled also. Used fishing line and small weights in the end of the line to align the bridge while the neck clamped in place. Used the same 60mm E-G space as in the bridge that came with the kit. If the individual bridges donīt work for some reason, the holes are covered by the MM-style kit bridge.
