grain is popping nicely BG, is this a 3rd coat or you run a wet rag over it ?
Either way its going to look fantastic with blue and green Dingotone over it

Looking great BG! You could just leave it like this and have an amazing build. I am looking forward to seeing your next steps!

    Progress.

Headstock plugged, and back sanded to pop the grain. Coming along nicely.

Before I cut the headstock shape I will plane both the rear and face of the headstock, particularly as we'll need a flat surface for the veneer.

looking great BG, coming along nicely, can't wait to see the headstock cut and re-drilled tuner holes. What veneer you putting on it again, you get something from Bman ?

Brendan gave me a lovely sheet of maple veneer, which I will whack on once ready. Sadly the grain of it may have to run vertical as I think the headstock will be juuuuuuuuuuust a fraction too large.

so you haven't got enough veneer to run the grain parallel with the tuners/top edge?

should look fine running vertical wouldn't worry too much
