    hey Simon,
    it was just unlucky a neck screw broke. You expect the small tuner screws to break before a 3.5mm screw.
    Might pay to rub the screw thread in soap might lower the risk of the screw head snapping off

    scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
    Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Well I tried to hack away but I thought I would do more damage, so I bit the bullet and took it to my friendly local luthier. He had a tool that he had made himself similar to this one (from the Stew Mac site)

    He had the job done in half an hour!
    On the plus side he was very impressed with the overall finish of the guitar and the components which I have chosen to make my Super Junior; which made my day!
    Now that drama is over it is nearing completion .
