Headstock looks great. Make sure the scratchplate doesn't have an extra layer of protective film still on it, that one has got me in the past. Otherwise I can sort you out with a new one.

I know what you mean about the protective plastic film on the pickguard but I have tried to find it but nothing, usually there is some indication that it is there but I can't find anything...still looking!
I will put the pickguard on but if it looks too bad I might be in contact. Thanks, Simon
Today was the day I was going to attach the bolt-on neck and most of the hardware, however due to a slight hairline crack in the neck heel produced by over enthusiastic use of the drill things went slightly differently.
After getting over the shock of the crack I quickly got some Titebond onto it and then clamped it up, it should be right by tomorrow.
I have managed to get the posts for the bridge in with a mallet and the pickup and jack plate on.
The bridge is a Graph Tech Resomax NW2 wraparound and the pickup is stock at the moment because of a mixup with my Bare Knuckles order (Arrrgg!)
I think it is coming along excellently!

Adviced needed: When I did the mockup build I noticed this gap between the base of the neck and the body but when I put the pickguard on it seemed to be the way it should, now I am not so sure.
Should I trim some off the neck heel to make it flush with the body or is this in fact the way it should be?
Thanks, Simon
Hi Simon,
I've never built this model, some others that have may comment but I'd say that small gap is fine as it is, I wouldn't mess with the neck heel, important this is flat.
The gap is so small I doubt it will be very noticeable !

Hi Simon,
i would personally clamp the neck in place and measure from the nut to the middle of each bridge post, and compare this to the stewmac fret position calculator values. It should tell you if the position is correct. There woul have to be a major issue for me to go screwing with the neck in the pocket, especially since the pickguard can hide any small gap.
cheers,
Gav.

Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't think it was an issue but thought I would ask about it before screwing the neck to the body. I will do those calculations just to be sure.
