Sorry about quality of pics taken with my phone
Are you doing inlay work with them? They look great. I don't have the expertise or tools to do that, though. If I was going to change the inlays (which I'd like to), I think I'd go with bars to match the pickups.

Can't wait to see it with the hardware.

I hope the hardware I picked (except the tuners, which are going to be from an old PBG kit) look modern in an un-tacky way like I think they will.

The last coat of blue is going on the back tonight, if my build partner can come over.

Wow Mario, this guitar is just getting sexier all the time.
I love the sorta reversed headstock pattern. it's special.
Colour is powerful and the stars idea is really something.
Yeah, agonising over hardware is a head(ache) but fun.
Busting to see more installments on this awesome build.

It's basically stock for the kit!

to remove the nut a short sharp blow with a hammer seems to work fine! just a quick tap should do it.
Looking great, love the idea of adding stars

    Back is done.

Now I need to sand back the sides after it is dry, dye them blue.

I've experimented with changing the binding colour to silver (pictured along the neck). I think I will go ahead with it, though it's not quite as dark (or alternatively shiny) a silver as I would have liked. I'm not sure how exact I can get it. I don't particularly want to put tape over the guitar now to get it exact, so I'll give it my best shot.

I've already started sanding the sides in the picture - some of the ink came off really quickly, I suspect a glue spot. But I am not particularly worried since I can just make it more blue there than the rest of the guitar with no real loss IMHO.

Then it's trying to dress up the build with whatever I want - maybe some glitter or stars...

Then it's top coat and on with the build. Not sure what kind of top coat I should go for, but that's just a matter of deciding the finish I want.

Looks great right now.... The back blue is really deep. Going to watch it dry, and then see how it compares to the front. I may try another pass on the front if the back looks better.

Even though the front was lighter when I stained it than the back, the back turned out way more vibrant. It didn't fit and made the front look plain.

So I darkened the back. Both front and back are now bursted. They're pretty nice in person since the back and front are quite dark now. Like the front, I think it is too dark, making this more of a spacecaster than a seacaster kind of thing I intended originally.

I've also turned the binding on the top of the guitar silver, and will finish doing the rest of the binding another day. It's all even and clean, but the flash on the camera and angle makes it look otherwise.

PS: Some of the stacked 'layers' of the binding are coming separated - how do I fix them? Super glue and push them together? I didn't notice it before

Superglue should do the trick IIRC. Very nice looking axe Mario, maybe try adding some automotive silver fleck to the stain or even the top coats to get a nice glitter effect? It's definitely worth a shot!

That's the plan! But where do I get them? Googling doesn't give me a whole lot of info.
