    ST-1 build- Frankenstrat inspired

    A few weeks ago I picked up an ST-1 kit less hardware, I have an old Legend brand guitar with a body I mucked up by being overly aggressive with the power sander (and the body was only plywood anyway) which I will be using the hardware out of, I also ordered a black pickguard and the almost obligatory bone nut. A set of GFS Lil Killer rail pick-ups has been acquired, so it should sound ok. The finish will be loosely based on the Frankenstrat type look, with the base colour and striped overlay. I won't cover the basics like sanding and headstock shaping as they have been done before, but I will show how I did the body finish and a couple other bits and pieces.

    I started off by sanding, sanding and sanding some more, the filled the grain with watered down Timbermate to get as smooth as surface as possible. Then I sprayed with a couple of coats of automotive primer surfacer. I sanded that back when dry and it looked something like this:
