Could have been because it was a Warlock, that is one of DB's least favourite axes hahah. Then Iceman. Sure he took off 5 points on my IC GOTM entry just because it was an Iceman haha
Yeah they're pretty bad the ol' Warlock, and I'd have to agree the Iceman isn't much better, although with a bit of re-shaping you could make an Iceman into something pretty cool I reckon. No amount of chopping would fix a Warlock hehe.

    Are Ad's IC kits 3x3 or in-line?

    page 20 Barge wow !
Yeah the IC-1 is an offset 3x3 headstock, it was a weird colour, started azure lagoon then added BMW to give it a glacier look.
Also I built a scratch build explorer/Iceman hybrid out of a lump of marri one piece crikey its heavy. Used an explorer neck

Think Weirdy has a good point no shielding on a clear pickguard might have a bit of hum

Those finishes look pretty sweet Wokks, can't say I've ever heard of "Marri" before, she sure looks like a heavy chunk!
Might just have to stick with Weirdy's original idea with the veneer pickguard then.

yeah Barge think I got it from a wood bin at the wood show, pretty sure it was marri, all I know its a heavy axe. It can have some pretty awesome grain man.

You can always try the clear pickguard and see what the hum is like. I reckon you could live with a bit of hum if it looks sick

You might be able to answer this Wokks, would it make any difference if I replaced all the wiring to braided shield wire? Or is the problem more due to the strip of foil under the pickguard that the pots sit on? You'll have to excuse my ignorance, I know very little about wiring and electronics.

I reckon it should help Barge the braided wire for sure. The ST kits come with such a thin shielding layer below the pickguard and stock they don't have too much interference/hum.
I'm also far from a wiring guru too, Weirdy will chime in at some stage and give his advice, leave it to the expert !
You will have to run an earth wire from the volume to the 2 tone pots

Yeah it shows off a bit more of the grain eh! Just trying to figure out if it should be clear or maple now.

Okay Barge. Call me weird and strange. I realize the two look nothing a like but for some reason in my head I've taken to calling this...Son of Blade Catcher.
    I don't know why. Maybe i'm tired.

Hahaha, more like Dad of Bladecatcher:-)

Didn't you see Fretworn's post, he reckons this guitar is not made to play Mastodon riffs.
