You can always try the clear pickguard and see what the hum is like. I reckon you could live with a bit of hum if it looks sick

You might be able to answer this Wokks, would it make any difference if I replaced all the wiring to braided shield wire? Or is the problem more due to the strip of foil under the pickguard that the pots sit on?
