PK, great entry to kick-off the Feb GOTM. Love the minimalism of this guitar and I can see the grain nicely when I zoom into the second lot of photos. Good work! How does she sound?

I'm not even gonna utter the word "minimalist", doh!! I'm gonna go with "perfect" just perfect!
Great work PK. I really love this one. Nothing better than a tasty Jnr and yours is certainly that. I really like the look without the pickguard! Might have to give this a go. Sterling axe - would dearly love to hear her growl!
cheers,
Gav.

How is it Feb GOTM when it's only 10th of Jan?
This is the thread for the Feb GOTM, the winner will be chosen/announced around the first week in Feb.
Ah. I see how it works. Carry on.
somewhere in here you'll find a very rough soundcloud clip of this baby under the heading Gypsy lives. rough refers to my playing, not the sound of the guitar.

I'm impressed Paul that's a really nice clean cut guitar. What wood is used on this kit as I fancy making one out of good mahogany.
Hi JC
this is a standard PBG basswood kit. I do have two non PBG kits I am building made from Mahogany.
I am pretty sure it is the PBG hardware and the Set Neck that is making the difference on this build.
It is also finished in woodtone. While it's not the highest gloss it still sits well and feels nice to play.
the other amazing thing is the depth of tone variation this has is enormous

Here is my entry.
Back from some time at the beach and found the truss rod cover in the post, which went straight on. Job done, build diary is here http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ead.php?t=3299
