Thread: December 2014 Guitar of the Month

  1. #61
Hi guys. it'd be a foolish guy to enter this late with this many rocking entries, but intelligence has never been my strong point, so here goes!

    Walkertone Firecaster
st1 kit in ash, maple neck, rosewood fret board.

Finish: Propane torch burnt body with feast watson golden teak, around 10 coats of wiped on tru oil, then two coats of tru oil aerosol, satin finish. neck is natural with 4 coats of tru oil, one spray coat of tru oil, and two extra spray coats on the headstock, dingo wax on the fret board . head stock logo is done with wax paper transfer and inkjet ink.

Hardware: tuners, and bridge are stock, as is the nut for the time being, but a db bone nut has been ordered so when that gets here, i'll install that.
Black pickguard and screws, crl 5 way, orange drop caps, bournes mini 250k pots x 3, vintage cloth wiring, shielded cavities, stock jack housing with a switchcraft jack. Pickups are GFS Premium Alnico II units with black covers. Black trem cover and black screws.

Sounds great, plays unreal, only thing letting her down is the plastic nut but that will be fixed soon. i'll try get a sound demo up soon, but for now, here are a stack of pics! thanks guys.

Only a few hours to go... don't be shy, remember, most of the winners of Guitar of the Month would have thought their guitar was not in the running. In the end it's what pushes the judges buttons. And, all entries get feedback from the judges.
    Cheers,

    Adam

It's very strange, every guitar looks a winner, good to see the quality.
