Alright so I've got about 15 coats of TO on, 0000 after every 3 coats. I wet sanded to 2000 last night and applied the thinnest coat but still there some marks where you wipe. I've read some guys thinning the last coat to get it super smooth, just wondering what everyone's hot tip is with the final tru oil coat.

Hey Andrew, maybe you need a smoother cloth that you are wiping with may be leaving small ridges. Make the last coat as thin as possible and have a look in good light if you left any marks or ridges. Only thin it if you have to but its not recommended. Got some pics ?

Thanks guys. Wokks I'm just using my finger to wipe it on real thin in small sections. I wet sanded last night so pretty smooth now, put a coat on the front and sides so I'll get a good close up under lights when I get home. Maybe it's because I was hanging the body to do all sides at a time and it was a bit awkward. Laying it down and only doing one side seemed to give me a bit more control.

Quick photo update. I've got some spray naughty oil coming to do final gloss coats after a final 2000 in a few days.

Same deal as the Tele, sick of waiting for the spray to arrive. Few more coats and a sand back between each to flatten the last bit of grain won't hurt anyway. Pretty much glass as is, but i wanna see my reflection.
