Could always go solid colour? But I'm assuming you want to preserve that Flamed MAple? If that's the case I think this is fixable...

If it was me, I'd go with paint for the top ala Barge's Blacktop. But, it sounds like Gav has something up his sleeve.

yeah wonder what Gavmiester has up his sleeve to remove all that glue.
another option Bman is to sand the cap off, see what the mahogany looks below and if not that exciting you could glue one of your own veneers to the top

If there's one thing I learned from the great man...is that there is always a work-around to every problem....

Time for B-Man to post some pictures of what we did on the weekend and to give you the story behind it.....Prepare to be entertained!

B-man will share what we did. Hold off doing any work on the spalty... Don't get us wrong. The glue came from underneath the cap THROUGH the cap and could not be removed. But the results we achieved are nothing short of sensational.

you have me in suspense Gavmiester/Bman, can't wait to hear what you did and the results.
That would be magic if you solved the glue on the ultra thin cap blues, I could write a song about it !
I bags front row seats with Pabs and have my 3D glasses and popcorn ready too !
