Yeah I almost did forget that Wokks haha. Drilled the pickguard down and thought I could string her up - doh!
Will wire later tonight and have a pilot run. Getting very excited.

Nick,
you would find out pretty quickly with no trem claw/springs the bridge would be tilted forward when you put string tension on the bridge !
Thats why I love ST kits so much - only 3 solder joins required !
I also recommend plugging it into an amp and tap the poles of the pickups with a screwdriver before you put all the strings on to make sure wiring is sweet

Looking killer Nick! What's not to love about a sea green Strat? Awesome. You must be excited now. Any chance of a sound demo? Great build dude.
You can polish with Meguiars Ultimate Compound and then Meguiars Scratch X2.0 if you have a mind. Just don't "polish through" to the next layer of oil.
cheers,
Gav.

Haha wokks what I meant was the claw was installed but I forgot to feed the ground through :P
Cheers Gav! Will have sound demos in the next week when I have got her all set up. I've strung her and tuned her and by some act of god I actually got the scale length right on the money. The intonation was out by barely anything before I even touched the saddles. Action is a little high but pretty decent considering I havent touched any relief/fret job yet.
sounds good Nick, the intonation on these kits are generally pretty good

So I just spent some quality time with her and my amp cranked for about an hour... (sorry neighbours)
Some really nice tones coming out of this thing. NAILS that Stevie Ray Vaughan middle coil sound. Will get a few quick clips tomorrow during the day for you guys. Beyond stoked.
WOO! Two milestones: Your guitar finished, and I just hit 100 posts! :P

Fantastic surf machine Nick. You've gotta be happy. Did you turn the tremolo up?
Unfortunately I don't own a tremolo pedal Lawry :P I'm screaming for a reverb/delay/fuzz pedal but they will have to wait until I get more work later in the year.
Uploaded a clip in the demos section if anyone wants to check it out!
