    I've made my comments on FB but well done Gav, this will be an awesome bass once its finished
    Current Builds and status
    scratch end grain pine tele - first clear coat on !
    JBA-4 - assembled - final tweaks
    Telemonster double scale tele - finish tobacco burst on body and sand neck

    Completed builds
    scratch oak.rose gum Jazzmaster - assembled needs setup
    MK-2 Mosrite - assembled - play in
    Ash tele with Baritone neck - neck pup wiring tweaks and play in

    @Nick, @Wokka - thanks for the kind words. At this rate I may even be ready for July GOTM. Who knows . Depends if Johnny or Andy or Jarrod or Wokka or Pablo or ... has a build ready too. Hang on, hasn't Pablo already entered for July?? Damnation!!

    Looking superb Gav. Love the colours and the burst. Brilliant job!
    May I ask how you applied the Colortone? Rubbed or sprayed?
    I used Colortone on my 1st build, the LP, by adding it to the lacquer.
    Is that what you did?

    @Westy, @Fretty - thanks guys. @Andy - Yep it's Colortone applied with a rag and blended to produce the burst. Vintage Amber in the centre and Red Mahogany on the outside. Kept rubbing over with the Mahogany when it was really wet and then wiping it off again with a clean rag to get the travel out from the edges along the figure. Worked extremely well, but I'm not sure I could get such a great result a second time .
