Today I did some work on a pickguard. It is based on the Merle Haggard style, but with a twist!
Started by modifying my original tele Merle H' template. I'm not sure if I like the point next to the controls so it may change!

Actually the point is a nice accent. Better maybe than the original Merle maybe IMHO. It'll look good with black-chrome knobs.
I didn't realize that you were planning to leave out the neck pickup. Sort of EVH meets Merle? Or the kind of guitar that Billy Gibbons would order if he lost his "Peeler"...
