A bolt on is doable for my situation, not having a suitable workspace.
I'm going for a rough, used looking finish with thoughts of Paul Kossoff 's guitar.
Linseed oil finish all over (might even venture into Danish oil) - just for playing @ home.

I am familiar with Free, but will check them out a bit more after listening to Mr Big. I did see Paul Rodgers about 20 years ago - when he was supporting Alice Cooper in Perth - and it was a great show!
