    Thanks, TD! I am not sure this is so much evidence of my persistence. It may be more the persistence of an itch that that needs scratching. It's funny how small dents or scratches that occur from normal wear don't seem to bother me nearly as much as issues of design...like a color being a little off.

    As to taking a while... There's a song that my daughters loved in German by Peter Fox where he says: "wenn's dich nicht gefällt, mach neu" Roughly "If you don't like something "mach neu." "Mach neu" means literally "make [it] new," but also means upcycle, repair, re-do or innovate. It's a shame I don't know as good a way to say it in English, but it sort of encapsulates how I feel about building/modding/repairing instruments. Anytime something bothers you, "mach neu."

    Yep, I think I like the idea of "mach neu". Always trying to make it the best it can be. It works for guitar building and life!
