Today I have given the body a gentle sand with 2000 g, then polished with Kustom Creations Kustom Grit step 1 (cutting compound), and step 2 using a Random Orbital Polisher and micro-fibre pads, then applied Maguire’s Ultimate Compound and then Scratch X with the Polisher and micro-fibre cloth.

Very happy with the shine. Still, some room for improvement in the sanding and sanding sealer steps!

Looks great! I always appreciate reading/seeing the products that are used in in getting the finish. Gives a better sense of how the outcome might be replicated... And that would be a worthy goal. Looks great!

    Thanks fender3x.

Today I have given the neck 6 sprayed on coats of Cabot's water-based satin polyurethane. Each coat was about 15 minutes apart. Besides a few specks of dust getting on the finish it all went OK.

FYI - I had previously (over a month ago!) given the neck 3 coats of Tru-oil and given it a light de-nib sand with 600 g paper. Then I had added the name and logo which are made from vinyl with the Cricut cutter. So, it has been resting for a while before today's coats.

Lovely work Trev, really like the lustre you got on that body.

Hi Trev, yes all is well at the Lab, thank you.
Been a busy couple of years, work things calming down so hopefully more time for projects.
Ig0r has been sharpening tools and making plans…..

Added lemon oil to the fretboard.

Then added the hardware: Added the neck, tuners, removed the neck, added the loaded pickguard, added the neck, added the vibrato system, added the vol/tone plate.

All went OK. Though the neck was a bit too tight and chipped off a bit of paint
