The racing stripes are a nice touch... although in fairness what isn't improved by the addition of racing stripes? Looking really nice!

First batch of clear coats: Three sets (spaced 20 minutes apart) of 3 quick coats (Vertical, horizontal, vertical).

    Already looking glossy!

I would say that is pretty excellent photographic evidence of the benefits of clear coating! Looks like a hot rod in the making!

Today I managed to sand the body with 1200 g. Then sprayed the final set of clear coats - once again, three sets (spaced 20 minutes apart) of 3 quick coats (Vertical, horizontal, vertical). Now to leave it a while before 2000 g sand and the polishing.

Also added a Cricut cut vinyl logo and name to the headstock.

Good progress! Glad you got a break in the weather. How many clears will you do?

That should be it! Not sure if it counts as 6 coats or 18 thin coats of clear!

I think I was not reading the "sets" part. Definitely 18. Wow, 20 minutes in between coats. What clear are you using. The water based clears I have used want somewhere between 2 and 4 hours in between. I could probably get away with a bit less if I sprayed, but that's still pretty quick!

...I know I have asked before...and it's probably one of those products that I can't get here... <sigh>

The clear is Polycraft Acrylic Gloss Clear - as suggested in Phrozin's notes. I use a similar time between coats when spraying Cabot's Water-based Polyurethane (even though the specs say 2 hour recoat time). I like this aspect of spraying!

That's a pretty big difference pretty a pretty big time savings for re-coats. My 10 coats took me 4 days (Brite Tone). As I suspected...the Polycraft is an Australian product. I don't think it's sold here. Cabots is sold here, but the name is different, and I am not sure if it's the same product.
