They will take 2-pole Speakon cable connectors or 6.35mm TS Audio plugs. I have one of the last Carvin Bass amps from before they folded which also uses Neutrik combo speakon/TS jacks.

I put these on for versatility, but so far have never used them with Speakon cable connectors. I do use fairly heavy duty cable with them, but so far have only used the TS plugs. Other than the locking mechanism is there any real advantage to using Speakons? I havent switched over because my backup amp (and old G&K) only uses TS jacks.

I have two Perreaux C6000 300W Mosfet Pro PA Amplifiers that I'm going to be retrofitting with Speakon/NL4 sockets, they both currently use 3-pin XLR sockets for the speaker outs.
