Body and headstock I, with stain and 2 coats of wipe on poly. Started off with light stain but I decided to go for the “dirty “ look. I was feeling slightly pissed off that day so dirty was needed. Like the result a few more poly coats and it should pop pretty well.

The stripe is a nice touch and really visually interesting. You won't walk into a shop and find one like that for sure.

Finished, plays really well, neck is a bit chunky, good sound, intonation pretty close so for a $150 kit a reasonable result
    Cheers

Looks good Tgraham. I like the way the pinstripe matches the cutout on the lower horn. What is the name of the stain? It looks a bit like Feast Watson mahogany!

Thanks Trevor. The stain is a mixture of red and blue U Beaut stain that you suggested when I started my first build. I streaked a darker mixture of the same colours with a brush over the lighter under stain. I’m never sure how these things are going to turn out but this time I’m happy with the result. Finished it with 6 coats of wipe on poly, for me seeing I do most of my building on the dinning room table the wipe on poly is simple to use and not messy.
