Thread: Acoustic cutaway become a resonator (hopefully)

    That's a very unique looking instrument. Probably the most unique resonator I have seen. How do you like it compared to the kit?

    Thanks guys, yeah I’m glad I persisted, I actually think I prefer the sound of this one over the kit one, this one has a deeper tone and a unique look which I really like. It gave me opportunities to think creatively to solve things, love the process, the evolution of thoughts and ideas. Strings were too short so had to find a way to make tail piece longer, should I use the stainless spatula from the kitchen- best not but next time maybe. Luckily there are several op shops close by with all sorts of goodies.

    I’ve got another old guitar to consider and a pit bull “forbidden” kit waiting for attention, think I’ll do some other projects away from guitars for a while. I’ll be back though.

    Might even play one of these damn guitars

    That's actually my favorite part of building. I never have a totally firm idea about what will come out of the build. There is something great about ending up with something great that not even you expected ;-)
