    it will, this one was the 1 with Crack binding was the bugger to do the other 1 is coming out way better had to redo the burst and reclear it I took your advice and painted the binding will clear it today them couple days to harden fully before I polish it. had a bit of a play on my Strat not real happy how it sounds not sure I like the wrangler pick ups, its the first chance to play it. I changed pick ups in my black Les Paul and it sounds amazing ill goof around with me Strat in a day or so see if I can figure out if I've done something wrong with the wirering

    Credit where it's due. I think that advice comes from Simon Barden and TD. I haven't painted binding...but it may be in the future, since the LP has simple binding, and my plan is to at least attempt a stain.

    I have two other builds that have binding, but I cheated on those... On one I botched the stain, and so did a solid color. On the other I did a solid color body and just left the wood unstained on the back and sides.

    Once you have seepage of stain into the binding, painting may be the best option. Easier than replacing, for sure. I haven't done it, but I have heard that some people paint the binding with either clear or platina shellac before staining to seal any cracks. I have never done that either...and I am not sure it's any better than painting the binding...particularly for someone with your painting skills!
