I'm not sure about Tru-oil as I'm sure it is not compatible with other oils. Fender3x made mention of this in your build thread.

Maybe Shellac, I think it is compatible with most things! It can have a slight amber tint to it. I think it would need a different finish over the top!

Definitely test on scrap wood first!

Hopefully others will add suggestions!
