Thread: First build

Been a little bit, life has gotten in the way. Started teaching the son how to paint. Have got some experience with this due to my trade background, he was a little heavy handed for a first coat but thats life and we can still work with it. He has finally settled on a colour, went from black to gun metal grey to fluoro pink to cream, which the cream should come up really goodClick image for larger version.

Made a little spray booth using a wardrobe moving box, keeps it elevated, easy to spin and blocks out any dust to an extent

Been a while and been slack in updating the diary. We got it all painted and started on the clear coat, then encountered run marks in the clear. Decided to strip it back completely and start fresh. My son decided that would be a great time to decide to change the colour, went from a cream colour to gloss white. A few things I've learnt, white knight squirts paint is garbage. It sets soft and is very easy to get fingerprints indented in it. The paint job isn't what I would've liked but my son, who the build is for, says it's perfectly not perfect and is happy with it. Started on assembly, fingers crossed it's wired correctly, came in box mostly wired but they got separated from soldered points when my son's friend thought it would be a great idea to grab at the kit. Have assembled most of the kit and will be installing pickups this week. Have attached some progress picsClick image for larger version.

Thank you. The advice I got off another post worked a treat regarding the wiring. Time to get pick up heights set and tune

Build is completed. Son is happy with the work we have put in.
Finished in a gloss white and neck was finished using the dingo tone neck finish.
Got all the wiring work sorted and plays really well, as far as me being tone deaf can tell anyway.
