Hi everyone,

Cheers.

Thanks Trevor!
Oooh, I hadn't thought about the next build yet!I've owned an LP-style for years and I'm really diggin' the new Tele tones. So for my next build I'm thinking maybe a Nashville or Thinline TL-style. I probably won't kick off another build until autumn/winter - the current humidity and rain is not ideal for paint/finish work. In the meantime I'm working on customizing the controls. I plan on adding a push-pull tone pot to add neck-bridge in series and neck-bridge half out of phase - something along these lines: TL push-pull mod. I'll try post some soundbites when I get a chance.
Cheers!
Neck and bridge in series is a good mod. I haven't heard the 90 deg phase shift mod but it should be more useful than the 180 deg phase shift version. An interesting sound but far too thin to be useful on anything but rare occasions.
Note that not all Tele neck pickups have a simple wire link for the cover ground that can be easily cut. Sometimes it's easier to mod the bridge pickup instead (and change the wiring diagram to suit) as the base plate connection is almost always a wire link.
Thanks for the tip Simon, I didn't know you could do the mod with the bridge pickup. I've used a set of Bootstrap T-style pickups which conveniently come with the additional wire on the neck cover. So hopefully it won't be too much of a stretch to solder up once I get a push/pull pot installed. I've recently saw you can do the same mod with a Free-Way 6 position switch which has the usual three positions but you can waggle it up and down to give you an extra three positions. It looks neat but those switches aren't cheap!
