hey dudes and dudettes made a huge mistake with the yellow and black mahogany Strat was putting its last clear coats on and bumped it on the armrest of my chair while it was still wet leaving a huge scrape on the back that bad it wasn't salvageable as couldn't match the yellow dye and clear colour, repairing it was a problem so I stripped back all the clear and go again, a bit of a bugger and yep I do shit like that at times. I figure while doing that ill modify it to fit Humbuckers and a Floyd Rose bridge I took out of a Kramer strat I was given last year my white pearl pickguard Adam sent arrived yesterday, after nutting out scale length I grab the router and got into it was very nervous that if I buggered it up it would be a waste of a kit. took my time and ended up with this I think colour ill redo it the same as it was ATM but knowing me I could change my mind on that, here is my progress so far ill sand it all and apply the dye tomorrow bust and clear after 3 coat of binder to reseal the grain again

Mathew thank buddy have you ordered your next kit yet?

    it went from this

hey chaps few updates both I have redone had a lot of issues with fish eye on 1 the other clear wouldn't dry after 3 days it was still sticky and not good for lacquer, 1st I use a different yellow as was too brown on the mahogany body so this was rit Neon Yellow bust is red mahogany stain in a 50/50 with clear, I have finished in HS 2K Clear 5 coats and I've polished it, the 2nd is the one that didn't dry I had to literally washed with soap and water let it dry overnight and went over it with a heat gun to dry the wood so no moisture left did the trick, I've done this a little different I've used 3 coats binder sanded to 240g dry then I've put 8 coats of candy apple red tint and 8 coats of clear ive used lacquer I'm going to leave it for 5 days to harden up before I polish it the 1st one I have redone a Kramer neck for it the floyd was off it as well but the body was buggered guy who gave it to me butched it and totally destroyed, i apologise if the pics look a bit dull thats just my ph camera which sucks

    here's the 2nd I haven't done a neck yet

Hey guys & gals seems I've inherited some guitars to fix my lad got himself a few kits but after 1 Burnt through the clear another he was polishing flew off into my lathe which I've had to completely redo them as he's given up on them told him I would help him but said no which is a little disappointing, here's some pic's and what progress I've made so much for me retiring from painting but he's my boy. For those who don't know Omuine is my lad he's 15

Ok 1st is his ES all I've done on this is put a 2k clear over it and repaired the purfling as was pretty bad and I'm going to polish it for him I think he's done OK with this 1

The next is his Les Paul I've done all this as the body had quite a few cracks in the back which I've fixed and sprayed it in black on the back it has a 2k clear and I will polish it in a few guys

This strat hit the lathe killed the paint I've stripped it back I think its an ash body I'm not sure what ill do whether to stain or do a candy on it I've got candy dark cherry, candy sky blue, candy cobolt blue, candy apple green candy apple red, candy tangerine

this one is Max's squire hard ail strat I've redone the candy tangerine on it as he sprayed it not enough over lap so was streaky this one I wouldn't mind owning it lol its painted in candy tangerine over silver I will 2k clear it in the next couple of day

Mate, you do such great work! I wish I had your skills for painting.
Also, you wouldn't be the first person to come out of retirement! And, family is family, so oh well...

    Love that candy tangerine!
