    What am I missing? Why is there a strat pickup in a bass build?

    Because it's a copy of a Cliff Burton of Metallica bass that had a bridge Strat pickup added for an even brighter sound (and a neck mudbucker for an even duller one).

    Okay, well that's different! I know who Cliff Burton is (was) but I'm not a big Metallica fan.
    Has anyone else ever done that, or was he the first?

    Because it's a Clifenbacker



    Since it's a copy of Cliff's Rickenbacker, it will be named Precipice .
