Haha I'm about to buy a couple more tools as well. It's a bit of an outlay now but I'm hoping to make a few violins and I don't know what access to power tools I'll have over the next couple years so trying to make sure I have the tools to do them completely by hand.
I admit, I cheated here a bit. I purchased a cheap chinese set off eBay. Time will tell whether I should've just sucked it up and bought the ibex ones or something similar.
The plywood shape will be the form (inside mould). 6 blocks of wood are temporarily glued to it, then the ribs are bent and glued to the blocks of wood. Then the lining (basically the same as kerfing just without the relief cuts) is glued to one edge of the ribs. Then the plywood form is removed. Then lining is glued to the other edge, then the top and back can be glued on.
