I will be doing the 2 humbucker, 1 vol, 1 tone 3 way switch thing in the designs, but you guys are more than welcome to change that for you own builds, it's mostly the neck/headstock and body shape that define it as a Deluxster.

I have always liked the idea of coil split options on humbuckers (I did that when rewiring my G&L) for the greater sonic palette they provide. But I have never heard a pickup that sounds good both split and unsplit.

Interestingly the cheap rails I have in my kit tele sounds reasonable both split and as a humbucker. It's not mind blowing in either configuration but it's not bad either. It's an Alnico 5 with resistance around the 13k mark from memory. I've thought about switching out the magnet to an Alnico 2 to be honest to see what happens.
