You make it sound almost like a partial exercise in foo-tilly-tea!... but I know it's not. Such glorious finishes are not happened upon without care and effort. Puts me in mind of artisan panel-beaters when they actually really did "beat" panels and heat/quench/shrink them. Probably only get that work on Roll Royce Silver Spirit vehicles and such these days. Let me know if you know this to be untrue.
