I have just opened my new kit and looked at the resonator cone fit. It appears to sit right onto the base of guitar without any gap. I understand that i need a gap for the resonator to work. My question is... the cone sits about 1.5mm lower than the top deck of guitar, if I raised the cone with some seats so it was flush with the top deck, that would give me the gap under. Would this work??? or would it vibrate with the top plate of the resonator. Can anyone advise cheers Glen

I suspect raising the cone would make the action WAY too high.
I suspect seats would reduce tone quality.
It's so much easier to cut the bottom out (as a few of us have successfully done) resulting in more room for for the cone and a bigger sound box.
