Popping basswood grain using non black stain

I did one Tele build some time back where I used Wattle Rosewood stain on Alder and then sanded it back and did a yellow to Blue burst... I call it my Rainbow Tele due to all the colour effects that came through.

Blue on Rosewood stain turns Purple which is the edge.... Yellow on Rosewood heads toward the Red spectrum near the bridge. And of course Yellow and Blue gives green.... So a Rainbow of sorts is what I got...lol

It was my first attempt at a burst of any kind so ultimately it still looks a bit crap... Needs more work to finish it off, Any suggestions are most welcome...
