Gave the neck a light sanding last night and very happy with the fit. This is only pushed in hand tight so im thinking the gap on the bottom will be much smaller when a clamp is put on.

Measured the nut to 12F and bridge to 12F. Not sure if this is accurate for this style guitar but i was getting ~305mm from nut to centre of 12th Fret but ~320mm from bridge to centre of 12th fret.
Measure to the ‘crown’ or peak/centre of the fret wire itself, and the high e saddle (wound most of the way forward) at the bridge end. From your images it looks like the measurements will be pretty close.
Scott.
Got a couple of hours yesterday so did some sanding and put on first coat of DT butterscotch.
Happy with the colour. Couple more coats and i think this could look really good.
Presume 0000 steel wool or acetone can be used to take the stain marks off the joint strips?
Nice colour. If 0000 doesn’t work you use a sharp razor blade and carefully scrape the binding and you will remove any stain.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
Now there's yet another one on my wish-list.
If the 'factory seconds' isn't currently setting off some serious teeth gnashing.
cheers, Mark.
I grabbed the five string stingray bass...great purchase....beautiful mahogany body.
That factory seconds list is addictive. 😎🎸🎼🎶🎵
