Welcome Rich, a Jnr, either SG or LP with P90 is something I would like to build one day.....just have to obtain royal assent first as I have used up all my forgiveness tokens for the time being.

Whilst an EX looks a bit 'out there' and in your face they are surprisingly comfortable and easy to play. Saw a YT video on Garry Moore a few weeks back and never knew he played one. He specifically mentioned how good they were for playing the blues on middle switch position with both pickups. Heck, even Keith Urban plays one live so it is not just Metallica, etc who use them as seems to be the stereotype.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I definitely like them it’s just the wife won’t fall for “I painted my old one” trick

We need to start a thread with things we’ve told other wives in order to feed our gas.

Hmmm, that’s tricky. I’m convinced by your technical argument but I’m not sure Mrs Richy17 is going to be so easily persuaded. I was considering starting a thread to petition Mrs DarkMark with compelling reasons why I needed a second kit.
